Mr. Robertson is vice president of Cranston Engineering Group, P.C. and chairman of its board of directors. He has more than forty-five years experience with the company as a consultant for a wide variety of civil engineering, planning, urban design, land surveying, forensic and historic engineering projects throughout the southeast. He currently focuses his attention on assignments where his specialized talents can add value to the clients’ endeavors.
As both a civil engineer and planner, he has talents that are especially suited for developing initial design concepts and conceiving overall plans for a wide variety of projects. He also specializes in designing projects that are sensitive to the context in which they are located.
As a planner, Mr. Robertson has worked on successful plans that vary in scale from regional master plans to downtown visions to development plans for individual tracts of land. For many of these, he has led multi-disciplinary teams and public participation processes to reach community results. He brings fresh, conceptual, and strategic thinking to each assignment so that each is tailored to the individual circumstances and to the clients’ goals. He possesses proven talents as a land-use planner to arrange programs that meet human needs in ways that work with the natural and cultural landscape.
As a land surveyor, Mr. Robertson strives to produce surveys that represent land title lines based on good field methods on the ground, in-depth studies of realty records, and careful platting in the office.
