Vice President and Director of Civil Engineering

What I Do:

As a firm principal and director, I lead and manage the civil engineering practice groups for CRANSTON. This includes oversight of both the Municipal and Private Development groups, Water Resource Management, Construction Engineering and Inspection, and Transportation practice groups across our Georgia and South Carolina footprints.

My Professional Experience:

I started with CRANSTON in 2006 as a project engineer in the Private Development design group. I had the privilege to work on many development projects, ranging from subdivisions in the Augusta, Ga., area to developing a lakefront community at Lake Keowee in South Carolina.

In 2009, CRANSTON took on a series of levee compliance projects in Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and North Carolina, and I served on the levee team. During this period, I officially moved into CRANSTON’s Municipal department and became a project manager, leading multi-disciplined design teams on a variety of projects.

My design experience has ranged from stormwater, hydrology & hydraulics, levees and dams, local road improvements, DOT roadway, streetscapes, site developments, recreational park facilities and trails, railroads, golf courses, pumping stations, waterworks, and wastewater systems. I was promoted to Municipal Design Group manager in 2019 before being named the director of Civil Engineering.

My Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, specializing in Environmental Engineering, Mercer University
  • Master of Business Administration degree, University of South Carolina

Empowering communities to thrive is so important to me because we are investing in and improving the infrastructure and communal resources not only for communities today, but also for future generations. In everything we do, we strive to achieve a transformative growth.

I live, work, and play in one of these communities. My work gives me a great sense of pride and accomplishment when, for instance, I’m able to attend a Broadway show at a regional Performing Arts Center for which CRANSTON provided civil and structural engineering design or to take my kids on a nature hike on an extensive community network of paved trails I designed. Such CRANSTON projects continue to help empower these communities to thrive.
